Ai System Matched GM Ltx Heads & Cam Kits

     Over the years we've noted that the vast majority of guys are looking for the same thing - a reliable hot rod ideally suited for the street, capable at the track, and striking an ideal compromise between longevity and power gains.  Below are the most common setups we recommend for the typical 350/355/383/396 LTx builds.   All of the following kits include in house QC inspection of every camshaft to ensure your individual cam will simply install "straight up."  The packages below are geared towards the typical 2000-7000rpm Naturally Aspirated 91-93 octane pump fuel builds.  You are welcome to specify your own chamber volume (available range is listed on the linked head pages) & request that the cam be modified for forced induction builds.

Power Gains: The horsepower output ranges assume a set of aftermarket headers, and estimate a realistic range that can be expected from moderate inlet & exhaust restriction to minimally restricted "full bolt-on" cars.  Thanks for your consideration!

Cam Options for Heads & Cam Kits:



  • Ai 220 / 230 - .560" / .555" - 112 LSA
    • Our version of a GM LT4 Hot Cam, but with the potential to make another few hp over the old GM grind.  Typically makes peak power at 6100-6400rpm on 350-355cid short blocks.  Properly tuned this small grind will run and drive well with stock gearing & converter.  Should pass emissions where ever the GM LT4 Hot Cam does.

  • Ai 226 / 234 - .567" / .567" - 110 LSA
    • Easily our most popular daily drivable grind for 350cid applications.  Typically makes peak power at 6300-6500rpm on 350-355cid short blocks.  Properly tuned it will run and drive well in M6 cars w/ stock gearing.  A4 cars should run a 3.42+ rear end gear & 2400 rpm converter minimum.  Can pass emissions in some states.

  • Ai 228 / 234 - .614" / .614" - 108 LSA
    • An excellent choice for 3.73-4.10 geared M6 cars.  Typically makes peak power at 6400-6700rpm on 350-355cid short blocks.  A4 cars need 3.73 gearing & a minimum 3000 rpm converter.  Usesd by both F-body & B-body Stock Shortblock Record Holders.

  • Ai 234 / 242 - .614" / .599" - 110 LSA
    • Largest recommended grind for stock short blocks; works great in 383's.  Typically makes peak power at 6600-6900rpm in 350-355cid applications.  Will still drive well if properly tuned - M6 cars need 3.73-4.10 gearing, and A4 cars need a minimum 3400 rpm converter & 3.73-4.10 gearing.

  • Ai 238 / 244 - .599" / .599" - 108 LSA
    • Works great in 383's.  Typically makes peak power at 6400-6600rpm in 383cid applications.  Will drive well if properly tuned - M6 cars need 3.73-4.10 gearing, and A4 cars need a minimum 3400 rpm converter & 3.73-4.10 gearing.

  • Ai 244 / 250 - .599" / .599" - 110 LSA
    • Best in 383-396cid applications.  Typically makes peak power at 6600-6900rpm in 383-396cid applications.  Will still drive well if properly tuned - M6 cars need 3.73-4.10 gearing, and A4 cars need a minimum 3400 rpm converter & 3.73-4.10 gearing.
